Does anyone else really enjoy watching sitcoms on TV? I don't really like drama programmes as they tend to be quite depressing and the real world can be depressing enough.
Comedies help me escape from the world and I can watch my favourite ones over and over again

Just wondered what everyone else's favourite comedies are?

How I Met Your Mother

Gavin and Stacey

Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps

I also really identify with some comedy characters and find they really comfort me, particulary Jess from New Girl and Erin from The Office

  • I am going to show my age here....a very young 46 year old!!!  I found some of the comedy greats got me through Lockdown.  I watched both series of Dinner Ladies,  Frasier and now I can watch all 11 seasons as All four are showing them on catch up  I also have watched Keeping up appearances and at the moment i have downloaded UKTV Play and I am watching an 80s sitcom called Brush Strokes.  Sorry I really find watching the old sitcoms brings back very happy memories of my childhood.  looking back now my parents brought me my own TV because I just loved watching it and used to hog the family set!!!! I have struggled with Lockdown and everything in the news at the moment is really depressing so watching some nostalgic tv is bringing some escapism to this rather harsh world we are living in at the moment - I just hope there are good times ahead!!  

    PS I also loved watching Two pints and Gavin and Stacey -  characters were lovable and life was happy.

    I agree with you that watching comedy takes you away from the currently depressing world.

    I watched Call the Midwife as some of it was the time of my childhood and I could be somewhere else for an hour.

    Call the Midwife is the only thing on TV that i can loose myself for an hour and forget about everything but I did struggle with the last season just recently shown, I wont say anything just in case others have not watched it but the last two episodes were so different from what Call the Midwife usually do but on the whole I love it!!!!
