Forum etiquette question

I don't use up and down votes.  If it's bad enough to be down voted, then its probably bad enough to be reported.  Very few posts are that bad, mostly just the ones when people overtly break the forum rules (posting research polls, posting they are under 16, posting spam, etc).

it would only change the order if you click the 'vote' tab. but you do get the summery at the top ... I'm not sure if thats only visible on the desktop version of the site though? not sure if it shows up on mobile.

I liked all of your posts, which doesn’t change the order at all! So maybe I’ll just stick with appreciation in words in future.

I've been using it to show approval (or disapproval). You will notice abbreviated versions of the top 3 replies in the conversation are displayed at the top of the thread. There is also a tab to list replies in vote order instead of chronological order that will display the highest voted posts at the top.

Ooh I'm not sure. To be honest hadn't even noticed that was there lol.  Rather than give someone a like I'd probably just send a message saying thanks or that I liked what they put. I guess liking is quicker though.
