Coping well!!

The one time I enjoy being Autistic, is when disaster strikes. Storm "Violent destruction" just came and threw my aluminum scaffolding into my neighbours house, wedging it precariously against his bog window...

I was able to calmly assess the situation, secure the neighbours safety by informing them of the situation and the risks that the scaffolding was currently posing, and of my plan to deal with the situation as fast as possible.

I was then able to quickly obtain the required help, and get the situation resolved nice and quickly without getting flustered. At such times, I can exert efficient and effective leadership, and people listen to what I say!

  • Well done, sounds like you handled that really well.

I handle things okay when it's involving somebody else but when it's my own stuff I'm useless. I think it's always easier to help others and cope in the situation without panicking and falling apart. But when it's me I just break down.
