How do you get interested in gaming again

I really miss the old days when I managed to enjoy playing video games over longer periods of time. For instance, I could play various games like Football Manager, Age of Empires, Morrowind etc. over periods of time without getting tired of it.

Nowadays if I try the same games I can play for a short while and then I stop feeling motivated to play anymore. I think I stopped playing GTA 5 after four hours. It might be because I don’t see the end goal of the games to be interesting, I’m not sure. So now I am mostly interested in playing competitive games against my friends like for instance football games. As winter times are perfect for gaming I would like to try out Red Dead Redemption 2 among others, however I do lack a bit motivation.

Any tips from the true gamers here? Grin

  • I'm not a gamer as such. I do play games but not very often. I'm in a lot of pain all the moment and can't really play as much now to much pain and to exhausted. I did struggle to find motivation to play at times though, I used to look up videos of the games when that happened and that reminded me of how much fun they used to be and got me excited for them again. Try that and see how that works for you. Helped me :)

    why don't you join Discord.

    I am a massive player of video games, maybe because it calms me.

    But now, i do enjoy learning - blender and 3dmax, and i am in a game group for years now.

    were i can help overs on the modding scene.

    Maybe you have very good idea's for map making and maybe you could get involved and share tips, or experience's of the kinds of games that you've had played.

    I think, you may want to upgrade you pc even ? as i have that issue were my graphics card can not play direct x12 titles.

    Yeah it does sucks a lot, having to keep upgrading, buying newer titles and its kinds of expensive.

    I use to build computers, maintenance of them, i helped people on TeamViewer many many times.

    But now i mostly just help in discord. Give it a try ! you may be credited for your experience's in the gamming world and make loads of new friends.
