Do you ever have moments of clarity & realise just how strange/different you actually are (but in a good way)

Evening everyone just a throwaway post I wanted to share my thoughts.

Just had a funny moment it’s currently 1:44am as me typing this, I’m lying in darkness listening to hardstyle because I can’t sleep and my mind just says “you need more stimulation”. So I put my headphones on and start playing this crazy music. Then I realise, “this just isn’t normal behaviour, who does this?” I’ve never heard of anyone doing anything remotely similar in the context of just lying in bed on your own and just had a little giggle to my self.

Im trying to think more positively about things and myself and something like this would usually really annoy me because I never ever sleep well, or just can’t sleep in the first place. But having a little giggle about it and enjoying my different’ness’ helps.

I don’t know I’m just typing what’s in my head, hope you had a nice day yesterday and hope you all have a nice day later on.

O.

  • I was at a Buckingham Palace garden party in 1995, only as my mother's 'plus 1'. It was a very hot July, so I took my jacket off, despite my mother's hissed, "You can't do that!". I was hot, so I did a sensible thing. I got a few looks from people strutting around in morning coats, but it didn't bother me. I really felt sorry for the Beefeaters, in their thick velvet uniforms, standing out in the sun.

  • I like your thinking - it is a good that we explore there positives where we can find them.

For me, one big positive that I have always had is not sticking to unwritten conventions or assumptions.  For example, If the grass at a National Trust place or some other visitor attraction doesn't specifically say I can't walk on it, I will walk on it out of principle.  If a door is unlocked but doesn't say PRIVATE or STAFF ONLY, I will open it just to see what's there.  Any NT I am with will say 'You can't do that!' etc but why not, it doesn't say you can't.

We don't have conventions like the others - we break the mold.
