Who likes listening to the radio?

I cant seem to settle on a radio station. Maybe I can see how long I stay with radio 6, goodish music and no adverts( pure heaven maybe). Then my others are radio sussex, world service but get bored with these easily. I'm autistic and have adhd also and find my over active mind so frustrating. Regards

  • Used to listen to Radio 4 at one point but went off it and I find music radio has too much news/adverts/DJ stuff in it, when all I really want to do is listen to the music. Love podcasts though. I can listen to those endlessly. Quite enjoy finding the random music playlists on Amazon Music as well, but much prefer to just stream an album though, where all the songs will be in the right order.

  • Yes I won't tolerate ads for a single second - you can literally feel your life ticking away.  I hit the off button instantly on ads.  I won't even tolerate ads on TV (we record everything and ff ads - will not watch live commercial TV).

  • Its a slippery slope. I refuse to pay a YouTube subscription, even if I do hate the ads. The one that really bugs is services like Now TV, where you pay their subscription and there's still an advert at the start of the programs. At least it is only one ad and its usually for another show on the service but still its so irritating on a service I already pay for.

  • This is the issue I'm finding with watching YouTube. It becomes an almost constant cat and mouse game with the adverts. When the algorithm realises I'm paying attention enough to hit skip, I then get hit with unskippable ones. I should just use an ad blocker really. Spotify a little better... but still get ads. I feel if I pay for subscriptions, how far do you go?

    - YouTube

    - Spotify

    - Netflix

    - Amazon Prime

    - Britbox

So many options, each with different content, as well as overlaps... you could spend over £50 on subscriptions before you contemplate Internet and any other stuff like sky... which I also refuse to get.

  • We record all our TV shows too and I refuse to watch anything on the catch-up channels because a lot of them have ads in now. I think I'd honestly prefer to miss an episode of something than have to sit through adverts.
