My little girl hates been in the car she screams shouts kicks gets out of her seat and lays on the floor. We are off shopping tomorrow i've been dreading it all week. On the school pick up the other day she was screaming so much i nearly hit a bus i just don't know what to do everything just feels like hard work. xxEmbarassed

    It's so hard to drive when  they are screaming and trying to escape. In terms of safety have you considered a Britax Traveller Plus special needs seat? It uses a 5 point harness and looks really comfy.I'm going to get one for my little boy. Here is a link: - www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk/.../167

    They are extremely expensive but as I understand it you can apply for a grant from the family fund. It may not solve the screaming but might keep her secure.

    Is she able to tell you what upsets her about cars eg noise? My little boy can't tell me . DVD player as a distraction could be worth a go.

    I do symphathize my son haited car journeys when he was really young.  We found buying a new car seat that sat quite high in the car helped, so he could see out of all the windows.

    What about a car dvd player? or some other sort of bribery, kids are normally open to bribes, well mine isSealed

    It could be a problem if it is the actual restraint that is bothering her, but again some good distraction technics may help.  A teddy in the restraint next to her,a game of i spy, with a packet of sweets at the end if she is good.  I am sure you will get over this problem just stay calm, (easier said than done i know), and try a new tactic.
