What's Your Favourite Music And Why?

Hi everyone, I hope your all having lovely days Blush

I'm just curious to know what your favourite songs are, and why they're your favourite ones.

I'm deaf so I can't hear music, I really wish I could. I saw online that Adele just released a new song and so has Ed Sheeran with Elton John. Have you heard them, do you like them?

Really interested to know what your favourites are Slight smile

My mums favourite song is Senza Una Donna by Paul Young apparently.

  • Music depends on mood and what I'm doing.  Big Band (40s) music is great when in my hobby workshop or editing pictures  (Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller etc).

Jazz if I'm in a more serious mood (Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, too many less well known jazz performers to mention).

Not into Glamrock and don't like punk but at certain times Queen does the trick. Older 80s bands like Rennaissance, BJH.  I can tolerate the Beatles, still.  Dylan, Average White Band, and ELO have their moments but not a great fan of Bowie or Iggie Pop and just find Sex Pistols an annoying noise.

Amey Winehouse had an incredible voice, a tragic life and some awful people around her.  I love the music but it often prompts me to think about the many hangers-on who fed off her and that prevents me listening to as much as I'd otherwise like.

I used to be an enthusiastic jive dancer so I quite like anything you could jive to.

On long distance drives (which in non pandemic times are a normal part of my life) West End musicals and belt-it-out, make-the-place-rock female singers (Whitney Houston, Dionne Warwick, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Cher, Steisand, even a bit of Dolly Parton, Tina Turner and Celine Dion).  Anyone who suggests that I also listen to Abba in the car is spreading a malicious rumour which has no foundation in truth.  I never, ever listen to Abba.  Ever.  Except sometimes.
