Speling and Grammer

My Speling and Grammer is atrocious, I fully admit it.

But the standard on this cite is wurse than me.

In this age of spell checkers etc, their is no excuse.

  • Accuracy, brevity and clarity, and of these three the greatest is clarity.

I know many autistic people who like me pay exceptional attention to language and using correct parts of speech.  And many who don't.

  • Not serious.  As it happens, I'm in demand for my thorough proofreading as can see a redundant comma at 400 metres' distance.  I thought Robert was making a casual joke too, not at expense of any individual or group.

Quite a relief not to have to use the backspace key for once.

  • Yes, I'm a grammar pedant. I especially like pointing out that the possessive apostrophe in English - the ' in such phrases as "Harry's toys" points to a missing 'e' that defined the Anglo-Saxon genitive case;. as in, "Se Cyninges sweord" - 'The King's sword'.

  • I find this thread very interesting. Grammar has always been very important to me, as I like to express thoughts very precisely, and I'm averse to ambiguity where it wasn't intended (although naturally, I enjoy it in literature, for example, where ambiguity serves a purpose).

  • I can't tell if this spelling is serious or not! Rofl Nothing against it, but your bio is very comprehensible but this comment is the complete opposite haha

  • Thanx RObert made me smyle.

speling and gramer dont matter reely, and obvyusely vieus of anyone whose duslexic are v welvome hear on the nas forums.

(I admitt do use speling in some other palces to scheck how mutch atension people put in.)

  • Looking back on my 'O'-level English Language paper, which I took when I was still 14 years of age, the essay question choice was hugely anti-autistic. I can still remember some of the choices - "You are organising a party",  "A family reunion" and "Looking through an old box in the attic". Not exactly playing to autistic strengths! I did the 'family reunion' one, but set it in a hill fort in Dark Age Britain, involving a dispute as to who got 'the hero's portion' at a feast. I imagine I got very few marks from the philistine allistic markers.

  • At my first three attempts I thought I did ok in the exams, the stupid ignorant examiners disagreed with me and have me the grade, ungraded.

  • I failed my English exams at school five times.

I only passed a functional skills exam in English, last year.

  • Have you read my posts I strugel with the exsact same thing  why I failed English at GCSE  that and auto correct really annoys me Rofl
