Hello

I am currently on a cv writing and interview skills course for add & adhd arranged by my job coach ,
Has anyone taken the same course or similar ?.

Believing the course was not for me being diagnosed asd  , sat it out last week and glad I did.

Lots of useful information on how to find a path to further education.

Some aspects of the course Has made a bit angry as it includes radicalisation and extremism .

Why on a cv writing and interview skills course would they include it ?

  • It was part of a course I did via the job centre a few years ago but it wasn’t teaching it as such, it was bringing awareness to it in order to combat it, so it was teaching it so people would recognise it if they ever saw it happening so they could report it and hopefully stop it in its tracks. 

    Not sure why that would anger anybody unless I’m missing something - probably am - you can let me know what I’m missing ;)

    Not sure why Just felt really pointless to me ,  but then on reflection it does make sense as the course has to cover a wide age range .

    Left the course on Monday due to a crap venue and disruptive behaviour ,Then signed up with my local collage for functional skills instead .

    To be fair, it all felt pointless to me as well, in fact, much of what was covered on the course I thought was pointless but I think because I was enjoying the company (and the venue) - there was just 4 of us, all autistic and we all got on - I sort of just went along with the teaching and didn’t expect too much from it and I thought I’d learned a few things but maybe not as much as I thought as I can’t remember much about it now. 

    I hope the news course is more helpful to you.
