Holding it together?

The end of August and now September has thrown up the following;

  • Urgent roof repairs to house £££
  • Expensive MOT failure £££
  • Dog broke its leg, now in surgery as I type.£££
  • Washing machine broke. New one ordered £££
  • Amazon driver reversed into my parked car £££

And I’m keeping it together…but last Tuesday my wife of 33 years had a biopsy on ‘a mass’ found in her chest. We get the results this coming Tuesday. The doctor is ‘very concerned’

All of a sudden all the expensive problems mean nothing. My own feelings mean nothing.  Now I really have to hold it together. She deserves and has earned, a thousand times over, strong emotional support.

If there is a God, please help us out. There’s a kind and loving woman going through hell at the moment. And I admit. I’m struggling to keep it together. Sorry.

  • The results being Tuesday not today is a little encouraging and the fact your wife is not as young will mean whatever your told won’t be as vigorous.

    I’m not sure holding it together is as helpful as we imagine, I’m told things would be easier if I broke down in situations like yours and that me seeming to not react creates a feeling of isolation and not support.
