Many flashbacks occasionally come to mind of when I was a child/young adult. Usually awkward moments or times I was emotionally devastated by cruel comments.
So what would I say to that little emotionally tortured boy, now I’m in my mid fifties?
- Its ok to see the world differently
- Don’t give away your trust so easily
- The cool people aren’t cool at all
- Never, never feel second best
- One day it will all make sense
- Sensitivity is a gift. Don’t hide it
- If you’re exhausted, say so
- Masking works, but paybacks a ***
- You will be betrayed or bullied by people you thought were on your side. Choose who you confide in carefully
- You have to take care of your self worth and your place in the world. No one else will.
- If you need to curl up into a ball and hide for a day, just do it. Give yourself a break.
- You’ll meet a girl / woman, in time, who’ll also be a ‘sensitive’. The sex will be amazing!
- Nothing lasts forever
- Good luck young man. Be brave x
What would you say to the younger you?
