LIFE IS SO HARD!

Hi everyone,

I had my first full day at sixth form today and honestly It was sh*t. The lessons were ok, however, I had 2 free periods and a break and lunch which I was expected to be surrounded by people and talk to them about general stuff and honestly, I wanted to run to the nearest classroom and hide under a desk. I’m not saying that I want to die but life is just so hard and i would rather not have to live. Do you think it’s easier for people who aren’t autistic? How do I politely tell my friend that I just want to be alone?

Not sure if I can help but I get the same around groups of people. Im an LSA in a school so I understand.

I find having a room that I can go to where no one else will be there and I can just have some quiet time helps. Not sure if theres anywhere like that at your school

Just take a 10 minute break to yourself when you feel overwhelmed and then you may have the strength to deal with people when you get back

Hiya,

thank you. it does help, I have started taking myself off to a quiet space a lot of the time and I am enjoying 6th form a lot more, it's not as stressful anymore.

Hi glad for you that it is getting less stressful. You are as valuable as anybody else. Yes go to a quiet space and mix with others when you can.
