Advice please: where to post this?

Sorry to post on your board but I would value some advice!

My friend has an autistic son.  He has written a novel where the main characters are a man and his autistic son although it is not a book on autism per se.  He has put it on Amazon Kindle for 99p and is giving all Kindle proceeds to the National Autistic Society.

The only problem is he is not great at promoting it as he is so humble and unassuming. Fwiw he feels he is on the Asperger's spectrum himself.  He uploaded it last May and has only recently agreed to let me promote it.  I am trying to think how to promote it further.  I contacted the NAS and they recommended Facebook and Twitter but neither of us uses these.  They also suggested the forums (fora?!) here.  But the rules here say no selling.  Does that include selling for charity?

Could someone let me know if there is anywhere I could promote his book?  Btw it is pretty cheap and a really good and unusual read.

Many thanks in advance!

  • The idea of raising money to support a cause is admirable, if you look at recent threads it will become apparent that the NAS support is for children and residential clients they can receive income from.

The NAS recieves majority of income from government and several individuals have expressed the opinion that it shares more in common with government department than charity.

Through no fault of our own you will find a recurring theme of adults on here rebuffed and ignored even when in dire straits like myself who dwp have locked account without notice and I stand to be homeless.
