92 Million Pounds ? Where does it go ? How it should be spent !

92 million pounds is a phenomenal amount of money, where is it going - why does NAS think that having posh offices, meetings, speeches, award ceremonies, campaigns, research, 26 executives etc ect are of any benefit to those with ASD ? They are of no benefit at all and the only reason they do this is because they are all good 'cover' for lining their own pockets.

Here's what could be done with 92 million pounds.

That amount of money could buy a huge autism centre in 50 towns and cities around the UK and staff them with 10 full time staff - more than enough people to have daily courses, events, help, day centre etc...

Lets exagerrate beyond all proportions and say 50 million was spent on 50 centres, then each centre had 10 full time staff at £20,000 each (200,000 x 50 = 10 million) - now another 200,000 on each centre for supplies/decorating, furniture and office equipment, computers - this still only comes to 80 million and gives each centre 4,000 per week running costs.

Property 50m

Staff 10x50x20 = 10m

Supplies/decorating/equipment/furniture = 50 x 200,000 = 10m

Bills = 50 x 200,000 = 10m

Remember this is a gross exaggeration, and also the next year there won't be these costs because the property is all paid for.

Every single person in the UK with an ASD will be a short distance away from help, facilities, being lonely etc...

Just a thought to wake people up as to exactly how much money NAS is squandering. The 2.1 million per year on executives alone is a disgrace and those taking those positions are utterly shameless.

Its a simple equation to me - if those at the top are seen to be taking this money with no shame then what else are they up to ?

  • Hopefully MP will raise the wrong type of autism for help in Parliament and question government funding conflict of interest.

  • I'm not a wheelchair and while one of my direct payments carers can be most irratating- he does genuinely try to help and has offered a small amount of money to buy some food as crisis loan barred. He also helps more than allocated time if needed.

So while not perfect solution, there are compassionate people out there doing what they can.

  • Now now i not a perfect world but ids ice pick moment would be great

  • Stuffed get back in your wheelchair

And the historians wonder why people with Autism spend there lifes in mental hospitals years ago. It is no different today, we are just locked down in there communities now with out the correct care treatment plans. If you are lucky you may get a minimum wage support worker with half your IQ to assist you in nothing worthwhile.

  • Spoken to City Road and expressed that there is a wider disatisfaction among adult care in the community with written diagnosis.

The Community and Media Manager says he will investigate, just to keep him honest I have said that if things don't change then I will publicise the recorded call on youtube and also take the matter up with the press.

    My motives are simple:-

    1) nowhere can i find any fund raising material that states limited scope residential adults only supported

2)1.5 million on an advice line and two part time people doing one full time job

(Forum user "HOPE" pointed out that there was no assistance)

3)Time To Change, with being homeless and pennyless hanging over my head- I feel motivated to take up the challenge to highlight the discrimination.

The National autistic Society is complicit in  discrimination by inaction to people's requests for help. The general concensus is that the NAS have been overly dependant on government funding and while the principle is great the reality is the NAS won't bite the hand that feeds it.

So please air your greivences with the ZERO support here and by support I'm not talking thousands of pounds support-but practical support with follow up and duty of care.

Heck I'd even draw them a stick diagram flow chartTongue Out

Their vision statement is idealistic and nothing like reality-I'm looking at being thrown out on street and there is still no help.

I can asure you that the workers on the ground are fresh out of uni or seasoned workers who all think NAS are taking on inappropriate violent clients.

An example of this is the pill bristol case where centre was shut down and reinvented.

The NAS want stereotypical dependant forum threads, as long as we are polite there should be no problem-if we are censored I will escalate from talking to more direct action.
