On Saturday I was watching the news, the Taliban where on the march, experts were predicting that Kabul could fall in 90 days.

My reaction,  was 90 days!

You must be joking, more like 9 days.  

It turned out to be 9 hours.

  • I was against this invasion in the first instance and this is why. I didn't believe the occupying force and the resolve to bring order to the region no matter what it took. They should have secured the boarder with Pakistan better. Fortified the valleys at the crossings and built watchpoints near the high passes. They should have insisted on a meritocratic afghan armed force regardless of what afghan politicians wanted. They should have left them with an airforce actually capable of flying as often as the US was having to during the war.
