But I’d like the ability to be able to shout telepathically at someone ‘JUST. STOP. TALK. TALK. TALKING!!!!!’ when I’m pinned down by wholly unnecessary verbal communication. You know the stage it can get to you? To the point when each syllable feels like the worst kind of mental torture known to man, when you’re panting and in fight or fight mode because of the physical assault on your ears and brain. The point where you have a mental image of yourself throttling the life out of someone?
They wouldn’t know it was me of course, they would just have a sudden but overwhelming and urgent need to be silent or communicate using the underrated art of précis 
that ability would be able to send out sound waves that cancel out what the person is saying so while they would speak the sound would be defeated before it reached you..... a bit like the technology used in noise cancelling headphones but bigger ...... we have the technology this is possible 
but your super power would be better because they wouldnt speak at all the urge would b gone ---- that is a super mind bending power
