It depends if an EHCP is in place, if necessary a 121 TA will be funded by the council. Reading my sons EHCP they will need about 1 and a half TA’s to deliver the program.

Often schools cannot afford them, some schools will have 1 TA or LSA ( learning support assistant) that has to spread their time over several students in a day. The money has to be justified,  and often there isn't enough in the budget.

i guess whatever job TA is is in high demand or there isnt enough people applying for those jobs or qualified for them. can be hard to fill a jobe when no one is qualified or no one is going for them. in that case for job seekers that would be a good role to fill if they are struggling to get them..... although could be the job isnt worth its pay, much like the lower tiers of NHS workers who find it not worth it and it better to be shelf stackers in aldi instead.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not getting the support you need at school. I would suggest you and/or your parents or guardians have a look at some of the resources here on the NAS site that are to do with education. The education hub can be found here - https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/topics/education - and I would recommend the pages on getting extra help in school and resolving differences with your school in particular, as you local authority has a legal obligation to make sure your support needs are identified and provided for.

You might also want to contact the NAS Education Rights helpline - https://www.autism.org.uk/what-we-do/help-and-support/education-advice-line - which provides support and advice from volunteers on educational rights and entitlements, as well as advice on specific topics such as getting extra help in school, assessments and education plans.
