Why do I mishear?

I have this problem, that at times I mishear what people are saying or singing, this happens in real life, on TV and radio.

Today I was shopping and the piped music I was hearing was,   Annie Lennox singing, 'walking on Zombie land'.  When I got home I looked it up on the net, and she was actually singing about walking on broken glass.

  • depends what modulation the radio was using FM  or AM   on AM the sound can warp no problem then add some inconsistency from the singer and unless u know the lyrics it would be very common to misunderstand a radio.

FM radio is better an FM DAB is really clean sound

as for real life i have found people with certain rhythms i can't make out what they are saying. I went and got my ears tested and they said u are way above normal :)    so the conclusion is that my hearing - speak brain processing is faulty at certain frequencies/volume/word rhythms.

There isnt much I can do about it so I was offered an MRI but I decided it wasnt worth the hassle
