I like spiders, but not obsessively.
Just after uni I moved to Sydney and lived in a rundown garage converted to a bedroom. The place was rife with Huntsmans... we got on fine but I did have to check my boots every morning as they seemed to like it in there...

My mum lived in country Victoria a while and had an outside toilet. She kept a brush in there for the Redbacks. I never saw any, but there were a lot of webs...

(Not my photos).
THATS SO CUUTEEE I LOVE JUMPERS!!
Yess I love this specie!! theyre so cool and colourful!! Theyre one of my dream tarantuals!!
I wouldn't say they're my special interest, but I do like spiders. I'm not scared of them at all. I went to Australia when I was a student and was disappointed I didn't see any, as everyone told me I'd definitely see loads of creepy crawlies! You can talk to me about them any time.
these guys ( black jumping spiders ) live in my conservatory. they have been there for 20 years or so I love them they sometimes walk across my keyboard and up my screen. Sometimes they jump onto me and walk about on me. When the sun comes out they speed up and jump really high.

Their colours are so so cool!! I always like to try to feed the spiders I see! And yeah I getcha, they pretty spooky
When I was younger , i brought a garden spider in from outside and put it in the corner of my room.
Their colours used to fascinate me .
I used to hand feed it flies and then one day I found it wrapped up in web ! And a daddy long legs beside it ! .
I'm not so keen on the black/brown or grey ones tho
That wouldn't surprise me. I used to be scared of them many years ago but I managed to overcome my fear before having my kids, so they didn't pick up a fear of spiders from me (and their dad definitely wasn't scared of them!). My daughter was still terrified of them though! She's better now, as an adult, and can catch them and chuck them out, but as a child she'd freak right out.
Oh yeah they can be pretty big!! Ive heard spiders walking sometimes too and its pretty creepy
Brooo fr?? Jajsska interesting
Yeah I couldnt eat one either lmaooo
I once heard one of the giant house spiders, before I saw it. It was so big that when it walked across a piece of paper it was loud enough for me to notice. Not good!
I saw a documentary where some Amazonian natives caught one of the largest species of 'bird-eating' tarantulas, and having squeezed out its eggs - a delicacy, apparently - roasted it, wrapped up in a leaf. They then ate it and used its fangs as toothpicks when they had finished.
My eldest granddaughter (11) makes me laugh. She'll happily pick up snails, slugs, worms, beetles, ladybirds, and all manner of garden pests, with no problems at all. She helps her other nanna out on the farm so she's used to bugs and dirt. But put her near a spider and she'll freak! Lol! She can stay in the same room as one now though, which is a big improvement.
