Welcome,
First you need to learn how your autism/asperger's has affected you so you know what to look for and what support and information can help you understand your differences.
I first acknowledged I were still the person I were before a diagnosis, being told I'm on The Autism Spectrum didn't change my identity, but it revealed more about my identity and why I'm different.
I live my life by accepting my limitations and putting my strengths to use, I acknowledge having limitations doesn't mean there's something wrong with me, and others being enabled doesn't mean they're better than me. I see just as much positivity from autism as I do difficulties.
Don't doubt yourself, and make sure you don't let it make you see yourself as worth less than those around you, you're of equal worth to the rest of us.
Hiya
Helplines will probably direct you to this website- there's lots of information all over this site and the forum allows you to ask community members anything you like.
I'd go through your GP to arrange counselling sessions if you feel it will help you.
I can only tell you from personal experience what having Asperger's is like but it mainly revolves around stress and anxiety about things that are out of control or subject to variability or sudden changes in routine.
There's also the overstimulation side too - everything is too intense and there's no escape from it.
What sort of things are you having difficulty with? Perhaps someone on here can help.
