Daughter thinking of committing crimes

Hi, my daughter is having thoughts of committing crimes but doesn't think she'll act on them and I hope she doesn't. She likes the adrenaline it gives her so at the moment we are trying to give her the adrenaline a safer way, like taking her to a theme park for her birthday in a few weeks. She's also on the waiting list to be a volunteer police cadet.

I'm only worried about this because she's been in trouble with the law before but she was going through a very dark time and she's happy now so that's why I don't think she'll carry it out. It all happened on Tuesday 18th August when she left home to meet up with friends without permission. She wanted to end her life and I was called by the police. Not the first time. I was actually used to it. Armed units arrived as well. In the end there were 10 police trying to restrain her and an ambulance crew. She was handcuffed and had leg restraints on and carried to the police car where they drove her home and she then ended up getting herself arrested and chucked into a riot police van. Horrid experience for everyone involved and for my son who was luckily in bed asleep and my other daughter at a friends and doesn't know this ever happened.

In the end, she was arrested for, possession of an offensive weapon, assault of emergency worker x3, public order offence, threats to kill and something else I can't remember. They said she was a difficult person to manage and they said she can do some serious damage to things and people. We got help after that and now we are on the right tracks. I remember she was laughing and grinning like she did nothing wrong when she was in handcuffs on our drive way. It seemed like she liked it and sort of enjoyed it which was worrying.

I don't know why I'm telling you this. I just need to get it of my mind so thanks. We don't need any help from professionals and we are seeing someone and have help from other people. Thanks for everything you guys have commented and the advice has been amazing so thank you so much.

  • thats a tough one....

i cant think of anything other than perhaps needing new friends, better influences and so on... what are her friends like? are they ok or could they have perhaps lead her down a bad path?

as for adrenalin, the thought of stealing and getting caught i dont personally feel id get Adrenalin off that, only anxiety and nerves. so its difficult if thats how she feels...

  • Yes, she used to have friends who were a bad influence and she used to steal but she was nervous at first but now she's sort of loving the bigger crimes. She does have 2 friends who are both good influences for her. She will probably make more when she joins the new school she's going to. She's always loved the adrenaline but I still can't see how she get's adrenaline from it. If that was me, especially at that age, I would be so scared and anxious about having a criminal record.
