Scared about lockdown restrictions being lifted

Hi, I'm Chris and I'm new here.

I feel scared about the lifting of lockdown restrictions. I'm on the spectrum, I'm 53. With lockdown restrictions, I didn't have to deal with the outside world too much. But as lockdown restrictions are being eased, the impatience of everyone else is very scary. Are there any fellow autistics who feel the same as me.

I am married with no children. I live in Bermondsey.

Thanks

  • I am actually very glad but not impressed that lockdown restrictions which were often illegal themselves are being erased The situation was not normal I wasn't even able to go to swimming pool and I've been once expelled from shopping mall because I was eating something from KFC The government in our country in Poland allowed themselves too much 9 months of house sitting i think it would be no exaggaration if i said that it is totalitarian state as I said i'm not impressed the covid restrictions should have been abolished completely and we should go back to normal lives it's horrible that they have taken our freedom completely and when they are giving us back only some of these freedoms people are so happy they forgot the freedoms they stolen from us in the first place

This covid thing is bulshit for me and the restrictions are increadibly stupid covid is disease as any other it's terrible that people die but they die on other diseases and ilnesses too and noone cares about that what's more the covid is a virus celebrity it draggs so much attention that other ilnesses are often ignored like cancer heart ilnesses people are dying on that and no one cares because everyone pay attention to covid the stupid measures were taken before they start treat you they must check if you have covid and at this time you die stupid i don't wear a mask to spite the cynical government i don't care if it helps I don't have time for this and I advise you all to start normal lives Slight smile

  • This is an extremely dangerous message and should be deleted!! As someone who has seen, with their own eyes, what this virus can do, and who knows several doctors and nurses working on the front line, I can assure you that this is *not* like any other disease. I have no idea what the news has to say about this, as I don’t read/watch it, I get my information first hand. In the UK, there has been over 120,000 excess deaths. So, either there's a very busy assassin on the loose, or this virus is a deadly as the doctors and scientists are telling us. I know which I think is true! This kills in a horrible fashion, it is not a nice death. One literally drowns in their own bodily fluid (unless they're *lucky* and have a heart attack or die from one or more of their other organs shutting down). An ever increasing number of people who survive the virus will suffer lifelong chronic illnesses; not only respiratory based, but all the other major systems to, including neurological. To brag that you don't wear a mask just to spite your government is disgusting! What about the other innocent people you could have passed this deadly virus onto, just because you have a beef with your government? Other people obviously don't matter to you. Yes, there are other diseases, but they haven't killed anywhere near the same number of people in the same time frame! Don't give advice on something you obviously know nothing about, especially advice as dangerous as yours is!

  • Hi I'm sorry for what you've suffered covid exists and it's a terrible thing it's tragedy that people die I don't think we shouldn't fight with virus howewer I think that emotions should not cloud our judgment our fear is something that those in power can use against us we should prepare our healthcare system for this disease so that those who get sick can have suitable treatment howewer we must never allow people in power to break the law and take our human rights and personal freedom this is not an option they must not be allowed to disorganize life of society because when we let them do that they won't have any restrains to do it again on a larger scale it is social engeneering they are slowly instill in us submission they are also cinical about it in my country when the lockdown started they said it will take 2 weeks to month when this time came they said another 2 weeks and another and another the government has no qualms in their lies the lockdown lasted 9 months I'm sorry I will not obey people who are more stupid than I am my not wearing mask is an objection to all this I do not urge anyone not to wear a mask do what you like but I think social engeneering was very successful if it came to that you want to repress my freedom of speech like in a totalitarian state

I respect that you have other opinion than me Slight smile

    Best wishes Slight smile

  • As I've previously stated, I'm not scared. I should be, because in immunocompromised, but I'm not. There are many that are scared though, and your talk doesn't help them!

  • Ok I understand your point more or less howewer we disagree for many reasons maybe we have different world view maybe It's our age difference I'm actually very young person I've seen your profile well you're 60 I don't want to argue with you older people are often afraid actually I was going to the old woman for physics lessons and this was the only situation I was wearing a mask not to cause her trouble I respect old people they've been through a lot maybe I'm just young and inexperienced I still can be wrong thank you very much for this discussion I actually like to discuss about ideas in the internet not so much in real world because it's too fast for me to process and talk and formulate the argument and I sometimes stutter well I'm autistic our conversation was real pleasure to me Slight smile

Have a great day Slight smile

  • Some people can't think for themselves. That's obvious. I see you haven't addressed any solid points. It's all airy fairy 'human rights' c**p. So YOUR human rights are more important than the human rights of the majority? And Covid was given priority over other illnesses because it was more dangerous! Any doctor, when faced with more than one patient, has to prioritise. They look at which one will die first if not treated immediately, which one is safe to leave for a little while, while they concentrate on those that are at deaths door. That's what happened during the height of the pandemic. It wasn't a case of making Covid a "celebrity" illness, that's a very childish way of looking at things. It was a case of priorities. I'm due an operation but it's been postponed 3 times so far. Am I bothered? NO! Because I understand that other people had a greater need than I! Its called thinking of people other than yourself.

  • I agree with you that we should fight with covid because it's a dangerous disease howewer I disagree with you about the way we should fight it I believe that the law should not be broken and our personal freedoms should not be taken away also we should not let the covid to be celebrity we must pay attention to every ilness we must not take the beds from cardiology to fight covid because people will die on heart diseases there must be reasonable approach I accept that you can disagree and i would never turn you off because you have every right to say what you want I don't say that speech can't be harmful but preventing harmful speech can cause very much harm because harm is not specific but arbitrary what is harmful to one person may be not harmful for the other how can you say that my speech is dangerous? what if i'm right then preventing me from speeking can cause much more harm because the truth will not be heard I believe that people are wiser than they are foolish they can also think for themselves if I'm not right then others are going to see my mistakes and less harm will be done

  • I have no qualms about freedom of speech, UNLESS it's dangerous speech. I'd be the same if someone was posting formulas for lethal cocktails! This is not just YOUR government. See my reply to Tassimo. Anyone that thinks this is a government conspiracy is, by literal definition, a conspiracy theorist! To think that every government in the world has colluded over Covid is crazy talk. No one has "brainwashed" me, I'm perfectly capable of reading the evidence, speaking to those on the front line and listening to as many scientists as I can. I don't, and never have, listened to politicians! It's a universal fact that lockdowns are the only reliable way to curb this virus. When I hear someone say, "I'm tired of lockdown, it's time to get back to normal", all I hear is, "The response to Covid should be tailored to my tolerance for inconvenience, regardless of other people's safety". And "I won't live in fear", means, "I'm willing to endanger the people around me to prove how brave I am". Neither of which is particularly clever. And you must be *extremely* clever if you think the majority of the world scientists are more stupid than you. That's some ego to have. Because you do realise that the governments are going on scientific advice? They're not just making c**p up! It seems to me that this is just another case of someone reading a social media post or two, written by someone with a 4th grade education, and a few social media memes, and taking it all as gospel, rather than doing their own homework. You think I've been fooled by the government, I think you've been fooled by anti-government propaganda that has no basis in fact. They're simply using Covid to further their cause. To actually admit that you consciously put other people at risk just to *spite* the government (who won't give a damn, by the way), says it all.
