I'm getting a lot of calls about insulation and heating at the moment because I am moving house so they have got my number somewhere.  I am registered with TPS but still get calls but my question is how do you handle the sales pitch as it is all designed for you to say yes and as people pleasers I think it is very hard for Autistic people to say no.

Does anyone have any suggestions other than simply hanging up?

  • I just say "sorry I'm not interested" and hang up and block the number so at least that number won't call me again.

    I also generally tend to not answer calls from numbers that I don't know, everyone that I would ever need to talk to is saved in my phone or at the very least I will be expecting a call from a number that I don't know because it would be organised beforehand.

    Might be worth spending some time going through all your numbers and saving all the numbers you know that you'll speak to at some point in the future about something so at least you know who's calling and that it might be somewhat important.
