Insomniacs chat

I'm starting a thread here in case people are in a position of being up through the night and wish to talk a bit.

Some discussion starters:

- recent TV/music you've liked

- general thoughts on life/the world/something that interests you

- any future plans/dreams you may have

- or anything else

It's 3:01 AM as I type here. Hello to all current and future insomniacs and people who, for whatever reason, are awake during these hours Slight smile

Parents
  • Welcome fellow insomniacs.  It's 4am and I woke up at 1:30am from a regular nightmare.

I was dreaming that it was night and I was in the kitchen of my previous house checking that my windows and doors were secure.  I had checked my door several times, checked my windows, went back to theDizzy face door and it was ajar.  I woke up in a PANIC.  And I can't sleep.

  • I don't ever have nightmares - my dreams are very complex and hyper real - recently, a lot have been about digging around in old dusty places - I can taste the dust and smell it in my nose.

  • It can be real tough getting back to sleep after a big jolt of awakeness.

My sleep tends to mainly sneak forwards by an hour or so from day to day/night to night. Yesterday I went to sleep at around 4am I think. Sleep has been real sketchy for me this year. When I fall asleep can be like "spin the hour of a clock and that's maybe when I'll fall asleep."

Nightmares with quite a strong basis in reality - like the legitimate worry just shared - can be a real pain.

The ones whereby they're so implausible that one wakes up thinking that one has just awoken from a fantasy film are much more preferable.
