New characters I've created (one has Asperger's)

I've done a bit of writing today, starting off with a couple of new characters. My intention is to make them a detective team. The one narrating the story is a 15-year-old boy named Valeri, a tenth grader originally from Russia, now living in the United States, who plays hockey and is the starting goaltender for the team at the high school the characters attend. The other is a 12-year-old girl named Tina, who has Asperger's, and who's brilliant enough that she's also in the tenth grade, despite being so young. They first met after Valeri stopped another girl from bullying Tina over the fact that Tina has a stuffed rabbit that she carries with her wherever she goes. Tina, being obsessed with hockey, is fascinated by meeting Valeri, and Valeri is very curious about Tina after learning about her Asperger's. Those things end up creating a friendship between them, and while I haven't yet decided what their first case is going to be, they find that Tina's high intelligence and Valeri's popularity and people skills make them an outstanding team.

I thought I'd share that for a couple of reasons. First, I thought that there would probably be people here who would find the idea interesting since most of us can probably relate to Tina, and I thought it could be interesting to get some feedback on the concept. Secondly, today has been the first time in a while that I've managed to do any significant amount of creative writing, and it feels good to snap out of it, so to speak, and that breakthrough felt worth sharing.
