Why cant you just........? Does anyone feel this to be a predominant sentence throughout their life and if so what has been stated at the end of that sentence that was directed towards them ?

I've had loads, why can't you just wear a dress/play nice/stop swinging on your chair/listen/do as you're told. 

As an adult I've thrown back "why can't you just be more accepting".
