It's been running since 2003 - the shtick is them buying a car that needs doing up and they fix it to sell for profit. Edd was the spanner man, Mike was the 'alleged' buyer and salesman.
After many successful years on UK tv, they got offered a bucket full of cash from the US networks to move the program over there but eventually, Edd got fed up being away from home - so Mike got rid of him and moved some other bloke in (Ant) - who has since left as well. Mike is just wallowing around in piles of cash so he doesn't care either way.
