SSRI's such as Citralopram are used to alter someones mood. Does this in turn make it harder to identify the causes of phsychological/physiological problems such as depression and anxiety? Therefore making them most unhelpful?

I think the idea is depression and anxiety create extra problems in themselves,
for example they can make a person less employable or less able to take steps to improve their life.
Being on SSRI's for a month or so can open a window for the individual to take positive action and improve their situation.
Obviously in themselves they cant solve a lot of the causes of depression or anxiety but maybe if someone is depressed because they cant get a job or friends some happy pills may help them make progress.
Never tried them myself because I like being depressed, happiness is a delusion.
