Can't sleep and depressed

I've had sleep problems as long as I can remember, the reasons vary, but now it's getting worse.  So is my depression, even good news doesn't cheer me up.

Today I had over £200 of my water debt written off.  And I'm still depressed as hell,  the good news had no effect on my mood.

I sometimes only get four or five hours sleep at night. And I'm tired during the day.  But I just can't sleep at night.  I can't risk sleeping tablets because I might overdose in a fit of depression.

Rant over for now, anyway.

  • With you there. I know why, they ran a 24-hour EEG on me. I only have vestigial beta-phase sleep, because my brain runs with an at-rest load of 30%. Neurotypicals, 10%. I'm processing my experience live-time, making me very fast indeed - a complex situational problem takes me a quick drop into meditation to fix. Not saying it's the same for anyone else, I need 4-5 hours alpha phase for body maintenance.
