What music do you listen too?
Hate to boast, I was host Stage Manager for Queen the Saturday Bohemian Rhapsody hit. I did most of the touring bands in 74-5, and then got mixed up in the Christian music scene in Brum, with Simon Rattle on one side and Malcolm Wild and Alwyn Wall, the Beatles roadies, on the other. I'd actually been coached when my voice broke by Sir Geraint Evans' lady wife Brenda, down the Launderette on a Sunday, with the result I have my choice of voices. My tenor was recently picked by Ben Parry from the gang at the London Acappella Festival, which brings the best soloists in Europe together, although my tessitura's actually bass baritone. My last gig of size was vocal lead in the backing choir for David Byrne's celebration of William Onyeabor's work.
Personally, right now I reckon Cosmo Shedrake's work is sufficiently intriguing as to be worth mentioning here. He's on the far side of a Dalston circle I was very loosely around in about 2012, working for Nat Mann and being tutored by Thea May, and he's as eclectic as you'd expect the son of Rupert Sheldrake and Jill Purce to be!
One of my old bosses was once Freddie Mercury's personal assistant.
