Feeling the pain of others

Last night, at a Christmas Zoom Quiz for the Belfast group I attend, there was a woman on our team who's Son - from London - can't come home, as one of his mates has Covid. She was heartbroken, but I felt her pain ten times more. And I can't handle upset well.

Does anyone else feel the need to carry someone else's cross?

  • i can relate... not to a heart broken person, exactly, i guess cause being heart broken isn't something i relate to myself. but pain or suffering, being able to help people, i seem very sensitive to things like that. it's something in me that i've become aware of as a trait that's part of me. it can be little things, empahetic feelings that simply stay with me for years, fresh as the day they happened.
