Threatening/abusive email from guy with AS

Someone with Aspergers (who denies they have it) sent me a very threatening email, saying that autistic people should be eliminated,  that they are stupid, and that they are f***** up in the head. He attends an Asperger social group that I go to. The email has made me petrified and very scared. I have spoken to the manager and she reassured me a bit, but I still feel really frightened and upset. He has been told not  to come back to the group as he has broken the group rules. But I am worried he might do so, and what might happen.

Harassment by email is as much a criminal offence as harassment in person, Hope.

Whether you should, or wish to, go down the route of contacting the police is entirely up to you.

If Hope does decide to contact the polce, then she'll need to keep copies of everything that is sent to her.

That will help. However, her ISP/Email provider will also have copies. All ISPs/Email providers routinely keep copies of all emails for a period of time for exactly this kind of reason. And they will generally cooperate with police and will provide copies of any abusive emails when requested to by them.
