This from america, I doubt it myself, autism ss I understand is life long and who the person is, msny adults are now discovering the difficulties they had as children are still difficult, I think coping strategy s have been learnt. Mine is 13 his progress has been slow and steady, but still a long way to go.His soical age is about 10/ 11 years.He is more  settled,than he was at 2 /3years sgo, but his challenges of food, routines and temper contrl are still there.m.bbc.co.uk/.../health-21029593

  • Personally,  I was running 5 years behind everyone else, over took them intellectually in my 20's  then regressed back to childhood coping strategies as my emotional coping to intellectual bridge became to wide due to environment. I would say it is a spectrum that moves up and down with age and environment conditions but is the condition is always a genetic inheritant in the background as a root of cause and effect.. Just my view.
