Is there an advocacy service for autistic adults in the UK

Hello

We have a local advocacy service run by Rethink volunteers and mine left in Sept 2019 and has not been replaced despite being chased up.

I do not want to work with rethink.

Does anyone know if there is an advocacy service for autistic adults in the uk as I have a consumer complaint regarding a tradesman and Trading standards do not put problems right or get refunds. The tradesman has left my property at risk of leaks through improper work. I contacted the trade body who they are a member of, they sent me a complaints form in Microsoft Word format. I returned it in .pages format. The tradesman would only look at one minor non risky problem a toilet seat and closed the case.

They told me to contact citizens advice bureau but they could not open the .pages document which I put my complaint on to the trade body.

This leads me to think that the trade body could not open it either, so I feel that the important complaints were missed.

The trade body refuse to open the case and I think this is unfair as my property is now at risk of leaks. I have spoken to other plumbers who confirm my feelings on the shoddy work.

I need an advocate to speak to the trade body to open the case again for me as the trade body are not budging yet I feel they have not read my complaint.

Can anyone help.

  • I don't think that an acceptable attitude. I certainly don't want people to do something like that to me. in fact when i worked in a shop someone made a negative comment on a review because i was working and had autism if it wasn't for my bosses knowledge of autism i don't think i would of kept the job as long as i did.

I know people tend to set us up to fail and treat us like dirt, Yes i am angry too but your comment of laterly have been extreme negative and toxic.

You do realise that some people on the community page are very impressionable and take what you written seriously.
