# Daily Updates #

just a space for people can say what they have been doing today so we can keep up and in touch

  • First day back in "old" (really still "new") job after the project.

Lovely. Time limited queries which are detailed and a bit messy but which I can pick apart. Fixed two today - another couple lined up. I'm back in my happy place. Tell what needs to be done, when it needs to be done by and leave the rest to me. The difference in my state of mind is staggering.

I'm really getting attuned to people "around" me - in the remote sense. Starting to realise just how they think (and how my thinking differs) and appreciating their shaky confidence. Maybe I'm becoming more accepting about the reality of day to day working - and the challenges of engaging with others who aren't quite as systematic in their thinking.

Also (big thing for me) even though I woke up early I made myself do other stuff instead of wolfing breakfast and logging onto work things. That other stuff (in this case watching a random bit of TV for an hour) really moved me out the usual morning brain-churn and set me up for the day.

Of course the difference is today is that I had control over my own agenda, my workload, the information coming in and how I could tackle stuff. It's when other people get involved with the work or I get dragged into random meetings that don't go anywhere that I start getting annoyed.

It's early days. Still the rest of the week to get through Grinning
