Spending hours under my desk fiddling with annoying computer issues. Booting to OS only to be presented with an ominous black screen on top of weird UEFI quirks doing strange things with video outputs on an already weird and hacked together Rube Goldberg of a system does not exactly help with figuring out what's going on. Turns out ancient HDMI cables from the back of my closet aren't fit for modern 1440p high refresh rate monitors. Duh. And now for the Christmas shopping.
