Hi, I am new on this site and I have a 8 year old boy with austism, ADHD and sensory processing disorder. I am thinking of doing the dore project and just wondered if any one with similar problems has completed and had any success with this project?

We looked at this then did something else that offered the same sort of benefits that I found there was more to read up about and I understood the science behind it.

My son was about 10 when we started at 12 when we finished . It was a big commitment by him , and about £50 a session/month, but it did make a huge difference to him. Took 5-10 mins morning and night - all he had to do is lie on the floor and be brushed in a very specific way with a kids paint brush to stimulate his primitive reflexes and calm them down.
This was way before we got a diagnosis - he was seen by CAMHS at 7 and had a little bit of everything but not enough of any one thing to diagnose.
It helped his co-ordination, posture and made him less likely to startle at loud or even not very loud noises. Also stopped rucksack being so uncorfortable and coats being irritating/restrictive. Certainly improved his confidence, and you could see the changes in him.
Also before this we gave him essential fatty acid suppliments - that made a difference too.
I often think if we hadn't found these alternative therapies that took the edge off him symptoms that he would have got his diagnosis at 17. Taking the edge off , coupled with his high academic achievements meant he was seen as having an anger management issue rather than a autism/anxirty isssue which led to meltdowns.
Hope this info helps in some way
