Life scientific on autism

Today's  (September 1st) Life Scientific on Radio 4 was a sensible discussion on autism, especially with regard to women and older people.  It is on BBC sounds for anyone interested.

My only criticism, as with all such programmes, is it was not long enough to more than scratch the surface.  But unless they ran a series this would always be the case.

  • Trainspotter..... Being BBC 4 you didn't need to add especially old people, it really is a given?

I definitely agree a series would be great, just high-lighting real issues we face (autistic adults) ,employment , experiences with the medical profession ,lack of support in the community i.e council ,ect

  • The "aging" was the study of autistic children, how as they get older, (parents die), their mental health suffers. It could easily have been 3 times longer, the subjects where skimmed over. It covered the huge advancements of women austism diagnostics.
