I find this new format for the NAS website and community too challenging to get my head around - I've got so used to the previous layout, I don't want to change.
I'm old fashioned whenever it comes to the Internet; as I miss the Web of pre-Facebook days.
I am not happy with it particularly either
Thank you for that, I would consider having the post 'unlocked' as this sticky post could very useful for learning what problems people may still be having.
(It may also help some of us forum regulars to help some of them out a bit which could save the mods and tech team a bit of time.)
Yes that's fair point. Done.
Could a guidance thread on this be made as a sticky post?
Some people on the forum may be returning after a break from the forum, and this may continue for another few months.
A good sticky letting people know why the forum has changed a bit and what they need to do to re-register and keep their username will be really helpful for them.
Thank you for the work being put in WebPM.
I'm sorry you're having problems. Can you clarify what happens when it doesn't let you log in? Is it rejecting your password, or failing to respond, or what? Is there a useful screenshot you could provide (by PM if it contains any personal information?) What browser or device are you using?
I'm having huge problems with this site, it doesn't let me log in at times, doesn't update me other times, really fed up of it tbh. Want to use the site to connect with people but I really don't like it. Tried clearing cookies, using a different browser but its just putting me off using this site.
Apologies - mobile usability is not yet good enough. We have made some improvements, but more are being prepared. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
calmerchameleon Yes, that's what should happen, so everyone should be able to continue posting using their existing forum names. There's a thread about it.
Greetings, I can only post quickly & then sort of leave-off. It seems to Me that NAS Changes the Look this Forum every One-and-a-Third Years, since I have been here almost 4 Years and in that Time it has been changed Three Times...! Not "improved", only "changed"... (I do not mind it, though.)
...Just saying. :-/
Signing in on mobile is a right minefield. I just ended up getting stuck in a create account screen which I could only break out of by clearing my browser cache/cookies.
Mobile usability seems a bit poorly thought out, too. For example, the reply button is at the top so after reading a thread you have to scroll back to the top to reply, and there's far too much padding at the sides which makes the actual content area quite narrow.
I expect that your old account may still be available [I don't know but I have an inkling]
When I used the email address I'd previously used for the forum here, the 'new' account merged right up with my old one. That's why I think it may be possible.
I hope things get sorted out ok for you. This must feel like a right pain.

Its wiped my AlwaysIs acc totally! iTs a frikkin nightmare!
It seems that is why most users have gone. They can't sign in etc etc... This one is just as clunky and non intuitive than the last one. It says designed by autistics but i think autistic children designed it.
I like the pre FB web too. One of the reasons i still post on forums is that it reminds me of those days.
I am lucky I had only just signed up so wasn’t use to the old website! But yes change is really difficult so I understand your frustration! Hope you come to enjoy it eventually :)
Developers gotta eat!
I am the same.
I do not like changes like this.
