I don't know how to make friends

Hello

Ever since I was little, I've been struggling to make friends. I've only ever had very few friends but we always end up not talking for one reason or another (and many times I don't mind because they don't share my interests).

I am currently out of work and I'm not a student so I don't know where to meet people. I have tried to meet people online but once they met me IRL they suddenly didn't want to be friends with me anymore and I didn't understand what it was that I did wrong.

I wish I had somebody that I could participate in activities such as going to the movies or playing games that need more than one person with. But I don't know how or where to meet a friend like that, who doesn't think I'm rude just because I'd rather say nothing at all than to talk about boring things like the X Factor. I wonder if people think I'm boring because I don't talk much? It would be better if I could meet a friend who also didn't talk much about things I don't like, but how do I go about meeting somebody for the purpose of participating in activities with me?

  • Friends are just people you have things in common with, you have lots of friends then, on here, out there, you are not as isolated as you think,  there are just a different levels of relationship of friendship, that is what you worry about. But, let any depth of relationship develop naturally, by not worrying about being actual friends.  Smile
