Housing Matters

Hi All

I am becoming rather agitated with my current housing situation, I am currently in private rented one and half bedroomed place and this suited us all the time my daughter was younger.

My daughter is now 6 will be 7 next month and has outgrown her room, the whole place is small and sadly we have nowhere for her to go on her own to just listen to soft music and watch lights due to limited living conditions, my daughter needs more space for this as it helps calm her down being in her own space.

Any advice on this matter would be great where I can go or what I can do.

  • Crystal12 you are ever so helpful, I have been on council list since November 2008 and sadly haven't been very successful.

    The place I currently reside in is ground floor maisonettas the second bedroom only just fits a single bed in it with tiny bit of floor left to walk along side it, the garden sadly my daughter has to be supervised at all times due to the neighbour having right of way through it the gate has to be left unlocked even though I offered to supply a lock and keys for each of us, this of course entails meltdowns if I need the loo as my daughter cannot grasp the concept of why she can't stay outside as I won't be long.

    It would just be nice for my daughter to have her own little sanctuary in her bedroom I understand homes are hard to come by due to the ever growing population.

    I have been trying other private properties sadly it don't seem it's my time as every time I find one and call its gone.

    hey ho such is life I am positive something will come our way.
