I have now been waiting for over 3 years for a CLASS clinic assessment. I was told before COVID 19 that I would be seen around Dec 20, but now due to the service being reduced, it will be longer. Is anyone else experiencing this situation? It is very stressful - I feel as if am am permanently in limbo waiting to know for sure. I worry that as GPs now commission, services, they are choosing physical health over mental health.
I was referred to my local ASD diagnostic service last June by my GP after an initial visit to him to discuss my possible Asperger's. I was told at the end of last year that I had been put on the waiting list for an assessment, and that it would be around August 2020 before I'd be notified of a date.
I started my 'journey' towards getting a diagnosis almost 2yrs ago and now with the COVID-19 crisis, I really have no idea when I'll actually get an assessment.
