Any other places to connect?

there are a load of FaceBook groups - put "autism" "autistic" "aspie" "aspergers" etc in the search box and look at the groups that come up

It’s times like these I wish I used social media! 

I know what you mean, I could do with a live chat forum or an active group too, but I'm not ready to let Facebook know I'm autistic. Even if I join a group, won't contacts such as my aunts and uncles, get a notification? I'm already the outcast of the family without revealing that I'm also autistic.

yeah that’s what I was worried about >_<

They might not get a notification, but there is a chance. I just feel too much of people’s lives are on Facebook to see - like you point out, groups you join say a lot about the person: sexuality, health conditions, political persuasions, likes, dislikes and so forth... I just think it puts too much in the public domain. That aside Facebook causes too many problems in friendships because in effect you become connected 24/7
