I will be attending a Christmas Shopping Trip to Belfast today with a group for those who lost loved ones in the Troubles. My father was killed thirty years ago by the UVF. I will get community transport to take me to the car park at Dungannon Swifts FC, and I get the bus there. Before arriving in Belfast, we'll have breakfast/brunch at Dobby's in Lisburn.
It will be useful to get out there. But Belfast at Christmas time is like a Cattle Market. We only sing when we're shopping.
I hope to buy a few gifts for friends. The past few years heading to Belfast have boosted my confidence in the city. But I know that I will be in the company of 'the other side of the house' on the trip. However, I'm laid back and easy going around others.
