I want a chippy tea!

I've always wondered whether there are proper chip shops down south.  Or are there only fast-food takeaways selling french fries.

I'm impatient with cooking, myself. My own chips are edible, though I wouldn't make a career out of it.

I like my chips cooked just right.

The worst I've had were:

• Pateley Bridge restaurant, in North Yorkshire, these were definitely undercooked and uneatable inside.  I wish I'd complained.
• Harrogate, fast chicken place and I would call them french fries.  They were over fried until they were almost burnt out shells.  The woman frying and serving lost track of time because she was busy chatting with her mother on her mobile.
• Italian hotel on a cheap package holiday.  These chips were actually fried perfect, but they rationed us to only six small chips on each plate.

Get Gordon Ramsay to sort them out.

down south they have expensive chippys run by stuck up snobby celebrities and their fish and chips you need to take a mortage out for lol

and the south cant even cook at that, everytime i went down south they always undercook food, probably again a celebrity tv inspired thing to not fully cook food. so anything down south food wise is just overpriced and undercooked.
