Hi has anyone else had success in getting a decent mobile phone suitable for a Child with mild autism? History is we bought our teen a Blackberry thinking what a godsend the BBM messaging would be. But unfortunately we couldnt put internet restrictions in place and he managed to access porn etc and downloaded masses of pix. Needless to say wanting to make sure my son gets the right information about women and relationships, with the whole literal thing what he was looking at was rather worrying. Now Ive been into several mobile phone shops with little success in finding something suitable. we would like to get him a phone where he can play games on it, has a camera ideally and music/radio etc options.
Contract or pay as you go no real preference. But when looking at Contract we were told that we couldnt get one which had a cut off when the monthly allowance was used meaning emergancy calls only, as the contract bill would continue to increase if and when he used the phone after that point. which could result in a massive bill. (or with pay as you go he was continually using the loan over run so his allowance never covered him for a full month...so maybe contract would indeed be better...?) We need to make sure we can have internet restrictions and a limit he cant exceed, we also live in an area where signal isnt too good and we tend to use O2. Ive spoken to O2, Vodaphone and a few mobile phone shops about the issues and no one has a solution. Anyone else managed to resolve any if all these issues or come across similar? Would be nice to get him a phone again, it was good peace of mind for us and him.
