  • Sorry to say it here (where I have seen it occasionally) but I really do think it is overused. "Thank you for sharing". Cringe Factor 7.

    It even occurred during my assessment. Most of the rest of the dialogue was spot on, both sides. But this expression perhaps indicated unpreparedness for a revelation. Or perhaps my reactions were being observed for authenticity. It's often said that some of us are not so good at detecting sarcasm, even though we're often quite good at dishing it out. There was another later occasion in the assessment where a rather vague comment was made, which I found almost impossible to completely fathom. Indeed, it still haunts me. I visibly reacted to that one,  but with some notable confusion. We were talking about bogus clients at the time; and how they are not entirely unknown in the assessment process. I think I probably reacted in the right way, however, because I had already made it plain that I was in no position to claim anything, anywhere; that it was really a personal choice to be assessed, with almost zero benefit expected. And that IS how it is.
