I thought it was time for another lightish thread This year has been pleasantly free of gnats (hate the things!) but the ants decided to cause me grief by chewing a hole in my patio door frame! Luckily the ants themselves appear to have disappeared now but it’s annoying as I now need to fill in the hole and clear up their mess! Why couldn’t they just use the door like everyone else?
Has anyone else suffered at the hands of insects, this or any other summer? Comic/Serious/Other stories are all welcome
One summer night two years ago I collapsed into bed and got stung twice on the behind by a furious wasp.
♀️ ouch! I imagine that hurt a lot! Did the wasp survive? The one and only time I have ever been stung by a wasp was similar. I rolled over in bed in the morning and straight onto a wasp that had obviously snuck in via the open window during the night, luckily only on the shoulder, it still stung for hours afterwards though and the ‘cure’ of putting vinegar on a wasp sting (acid to neutralise the alkaline) didn’t work anywhere near as well as I’d hoped it would! How long did it take to recover from your wasp sting?
To be fair the vinegar cure didn’t work when I tried it, sadly!
It’s good that you were kind enough to be gentle with the wasp despite his assault on you!
Oh and I removed the wasp from my bed and left him on the outside windowsill. I think he was a bit battered but otherwise okay.
Didn't know about the vinegar cure. It's a fairly sensitive place to get stung. I think the stings were painful for about 24 hours.
