Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a great read, and Lisbeth Salander (the lead detective) is somewhere on the autistic spectrum. She is feisty, strong, anarchical in some ways and not always likeable, but she has had a troubled past full of abuse, so she is naturally scarred in some ways. But despite being flawed, she possesses great skill and character, a classic anti-hero in my opinion. And it is great that she is female because more often than not it is men with autistic traits who are given the detective role in fiction.
The novel also explores sexual violence against women, and the moral bankruptcy of the ruling elite.
